How to Find a Person by Email (Public Methods)

An email is often a better starting point than a name. Handles are unique. Names are not. Stay on the public web: no inbox hacking, no leaked-database shopping, no login bypass.
Read the domain first
A company domain usually tells you the employer. Search the company team page, then the local part of the address as a name guess (maya.chen → Maya Chen). Personal domains and big webmail (Gmail, Outlook) tell you almost nothing about an employer — search the full address in quotes instead.
Search the address as a string
"[email protected]" on Google can hit speaker bios, GitHub commits, public Slack-export pages, news quotes, and old forum posts. If nothing returns, try the local part plus the company name.
Usernames
People reuse the local part of their email as a handle. Check GitHub, X, LinkedIn, and personal sites. One matching photo or employer across two sources is worth more than five maybe-matches.
