A name-only search is the hardest version of this problem. John Smith in London is not a query. It is a crowd. You either add context or you waste an afternoon.
Generate variants
Nicknames, maiden names, middle initials, hyphenation, and transliteration (Wei Wang / Wang Wei) all matter. Search the version they publish with, not the version on a wedding invite from 2009.
Add one filter, then another

Platforms in a sensible order
- Web search with quotes plus one extra fact.
- LinkedIn public profiles.
- Company or university directories.
